Contracting Parties
These terms and conditions are legally binding between the passenger(s) and Strand Cruise Ltd, herein after referred to as the ‘Company’.
Agreement Of Terms And Conditions
The payment of a deposit to the Company for a booking on The Strand Cruise constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions and must be adhered to by both parties.
Fares
The fares quoted in the Company’s branded materials (brochure, website or any other material) are shown in US dollars and are per person based on double or twin cabin occupancy basis. The Company reserves the right to change rates with or without prior notice.
What The Fare Includes
As well as suite accommodation, the quoted fare includes all excursions and activities as described in the set itinerary, three meals during full sailing days, breakfast on day of disembarkation, soft drinks & local beer, house wine during meals, port charges, English speaking guides (alternative language guides can be provided on request subject to availability), WI-FI in all cabins and public areas, and complimentary international daily newspapers are available.
What The Fare Excludes
The cruise fair excludes any items of a personal nature such as laundry, telephone calls, spa treatments and gift shop purchases, international and domestic flights and transfers, optional extra excursions, imported wines and spirits, medical services, travel insurance, visa fees or gratuities to staff and crew.
Fuel Supplements
The Strand Cruise reserves the right to charge a fuel supplement in the event that fuel prices implemented locally increase up to and including the day of sailing. The supplement will be on a per person basis and be applicable at the time of booking, prior to the date of departure or once on board ship, even if the applicable fare has been paid in full.
Reservations & Payment
To confirm your reservation on The Strand Cruise, a non-refundable deposit of 20% of the total cruise fare is required at the time of booking. Final and full payment is due no later than 90 days prior to your Strand Cruise sailing date. Reservations made within 90 days of sailing date require full payment at time of booking. Final documentation will be issued after receipt of final payment and approximately 30 days prior to sailing. All reservations are subject to cancellation should payment not received by the due date, and are guaranteed only when paid in full 90 days prior to sailing.
Booking Changes & Cancellation Of Reservation
In the unfortunate event that you should have to cancel your holiday, the Company must be notified in writing. The day that we receive this notice in writing will be considered the date that your cancellation has been made. Certain cancellation fees apply to your holiday if cancelled after a deposit or final payment has been made.
The following scale of charges will apply when notice of cancellation is given prior to sailing.

The Company reserves the right to charge for financial penalties, fees and losses incurred as a result of cancellation.
Itinerary Variation
We seek to provide services as published or stated in your final documentation, however deviations to planned cruise itineraries may occur from time to time. If conditions make cruise routes unsuitable for navigation or raise sufficient doubt for navigation, we reserve the right to modify and provide alternatives. Therefore itineraries and arrangements are subject to change without notice. Any change to itineraries will not result in eligibility for a refund or claim for compensation. The Company reserves the right to pass on to passengers any expenditures or losses caused by delays or events beyond its control.
Cancellation Of Departure
We reserve the right to cancel, amend or postpone any departure date and itinerary. Passengers will be notified of any changes at least 60 days prior to departure. In the case of a complete cancellation of a cruise departure by the Company, we will refund in full monies paid for the cruise to passengers with existing confirmed bookings.
Force Majeure
In the case of circumstances beyond normal control that cannot be foreseen or avoided, such as but not limited to war, civil or political unrest, strikes, catastrophes, epidemics, adverse river conditions or disruption to fuel supplies to the vessel, the Company may cancel the cruise at any time in advance of departure and there will be a full refund of all monies paid by the passenger for the Strand Cruise element of their holiday. In the event of a cruise being aborted or cancelled as a result of the above force majeure situations after the cruise itinerary has commenced, monies will not be refunded and the company will not be held liable for compensation.
Travel Documentation & Insurance
It is the responsibility of the passenger to ensure they are in possession of the correct documentation required to travel in Myanmar and that they have adequate travel insurance for their journey. All passengers are required to have a valid passport for at least six (6) months after their scheduled departure from Myanmar. All passengers are required to verify and obtain by their own means a valid visa to enter Myanmar. It is the responsibility of the passenger to check and fulfill the public health (including vaccination) and immigration requirements applicable to their journey and to comply with all customs requirements. The Strand Cruise can only provide general information about such requirements. Failure to obtain visa will not waive any cancellation fees in the event that you need to cancel your trip. Strand Cruise Ltd shall not be responsible or liable for delay or missed portion of any cruise due to invalid travel documentation.
Baggage
Passengers are permitted to bring a sensible amount of luggage and personal belongings on board. The Strand Cruise is not responsible for the loss or damage of any baggage or personal items brought on board the ship. Dangerous items including but not limited to firearms, explosives, combustible and illegal substances may under no circumstances be brought on board.
Valuables
All cabins are equipped with a personal, electronic safe. The company accepts no liability for loss of any valuable items onboard.
Child Policy
We welcome children of four years and over sharing a Strand Cabin category or above with accompanying adult(s). The active land excursions and intimate atmosphere of The Strand Cruise make the experience not suitable for younger children. Children over 12 years will need to have their own cabin. Children must be supervised at all times and their safety is the responsibility of the accompanying adult(s). Please note that The Strand Cruise does not have a doctor on-board and not able to provide any child-care or babysitting services.
Pets
We are unable to accommodate pets of any kind aboard the Strand Cruise.
Cabin Suite Configuration
The default bed configuration for all cabins is double, however all beds can be converted into twin on request. Passengers should notify us prior the cruise should they prefer a different configuration to double.
Health Services And Medical Requirements
The Strand Cruise cabins, restaurants and public areas are distributed over four decks and unfortunately the ship’s layout does not allow for the installation of inter-connecting elevator facilities for passengers with limited mobility. It is recommended passengers be relatively fit and able-bodied for land excursions. By confirming a booking on The Strand Cruise, passengers warrant that they are physically or otherwise fit to travel, and are physically able at all times to comply with the applicable rules and regulations of the ship and instructions of the ship’s crew.
The Strand Cruise does not have doctor on-board. For any medical assistance required, the Strand crew will be in contact local medical authorities as soon as possible to facilitate medical services under the guidance of a doctor. Guests will be liable and responsible for all related charges. It is highly recommended for guests to subscribe to a personal health and travel insurance prior their journey to Myanmar.
Specific dietary requests should be advised to the reservation agent in writing at time of booking. Please note that while all reasonable effort will be made to accommodate special requests, they cannot be guaranteed.
Disclaimer Of Responsibility
Third party owners, operators and charterers provide all transfers, land excursions and off-ship activities within your Strand Cruise itinerary. These suppliers have been fully vetted by the Company, however they are separate entities and are deemed not to be principles, agents, employees or partners of Strand Cruise Ltd. Accordingly, the Company acknowledges that there shall not be any claim or recourse against it for or as a consequence of breach of duty, breach of contract, negligent or willful or intention to act, or failure to act, or omission by a supplier.
Passengers agree that the Company shall not be liable for any damage, loss (including personal injury, death or loss of or damage to property) or expense occasioned by any act or omission of any supplier provided services. If the services of a supplier cannot be delivered or there are changes in any planned service for any reason beyond our control, we will make an effort to arrange similar services. Any resulting expenses will be the participant’s responsibility.
Limitation Of Liability
Regardless of any other provisions in this confirmation and in our brochures, our liability for breach, damage, loss, personal injury, death, and/or loss of or damage to property, or other loss, injury or damage, also including, but not limited to, economic damages, emotional distress, mental suffering and/or physical or psychological injury, whether occurring before the start of travel, after travel has begun, after completion of the travel, or multiple time periods, and regardless of whether due to accidental or willful or intentional act or omission of any person or entity, or other cause shall not exceed the amount paid to us for travel.
Complaints
In the unlikely event that you encounter a problem during your journey on The Strand Cruise, in the first instance, please inform the cruise manager, who will endeavour to address the issue. If you suffer any loss or damage to your luggage or personal possession, please inform us within 72 hours. Should your complaint not be resolved and you wish to complain further, please send formal written notice of your complaint to [email protected] or to GCP Hospitality, 4th Floor, Dusit Thani Building, 946 Rama IV Road, Silom, Bangrak, Bangkok 10500, Thailand, within 30 days of the end of your trip, giving your booking reference and all other relevant information. Failure to do so will affect our ability to investigate your complaint and could affect your rights.
Notice Of Claims And Filing Of Legal Action
Any notice of claim against The Strand Cruise of any nature whatsoever must be received by the Company in writing within 30 days of the end of the date of the end of your trip. No lawsuit may be brought against the Company unless the lawsuit is commenced no later than six (6) months after the date of the end of your journey on the ship, and valid service of the lawsuit is made within 30 days after the commencement of the lawsuit. In the event of a dispute, the law of the country within which the vessel is operating will apply.
Intellectual Property
All copyright, patent, intellectual and other property rights in information contained herein is owned by the Company or other third parties. No rights of any kind are licensed or assigned or shall otherwise pass to persons accessing such information. Under no circumstances should information contained herein or any part of it be copied, reproduced or redistributed.
Any and all personal data collected by the Company from time to time may be used and disclosed for such purposes and to such persons in accordance with the Company's privacy policy statement.
In the event of any inconsistency between the English and Chinese versions of this disclaimer, the English version shall prevail.
Third Party Content
The Company does not endorse and is not responsible for the content of any site owned by any third party that may be linked to this website via hyperlink, whether such hyperlink is provided by the Company or by a third party. No one is authorized to link to any websites of the Company without prior approval from the Company.
International Use
Due to the global nature of the Internet, you agree to comply with all local rules regarding online conduct, including all laws, rules, codes, and regulations of the country in which you reside and the country from which you access this website. In addition, you agree to comply with all applicable laws, rules, codes, and regulations regarding the transmission of technical data exported from your jurisdiction.
Systems
This website and the Internet in general may be subject to system delays and failures beyond our reasonable control. As such, you may have difficulty accessing this website. The Company shall not be held liable for any damages, losses or expenses of any kind, whether direct, indirect, special, consequential or incidental, arising out of or in connection with your access to, use of or browsing on the website. In this regard, all warranties or representations of any kind, whether expressed or implied by law, equity or statutes, are excluded to the extent permissible under the applicable law.

Under the Ordinance, you have the right to ascertain whether the Company holds your personal data, to obtain a copy of the data, and to correct any data that is inaccurate. You may also request the Company to inform you of the type of personal data held by the Company.
